Position Overview :
The FP&A Manager with report to our CFO / COO and will directly partner with our Controller and channel leaders (e-Commerce, Retail, Wholesale) leaders on all aspects of the financial planning and analysis, including but not limited to providing guidance on coding for budget alignment, monthly book close support, revenue and expense forecasting, complex retail scenario modelling and cash flow forecasting. The candidate will be responsible for the creation of a monthly reporting package including the development of operational KPI’s and executive presentations. Deep experience in retail accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and advanced systems and process proficiency is required. This role demands a technical expert in Excel (Microsoft Power Query & Pivot a plus) and NetSuite. The FP&A manager will be invaluable to the CFO / COO in delivering sharp financial insights that drive business decisions. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and excels at both detail-oriented analysis work and high-level financial storytelling. You thrive on creating structure where it doesn’t exist and are not shy to enforce compliance when necessary.
Key Responsibilities :
- Must have Retail accounting experience
- Create and maintain P&L / expense models by Channel and Function including the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts with strong focus on retail-specific activities like shipping, cost of goods sold, and sales performance while partnering with the merchant planning function on inventory buys.
- Review operational metrics and daily KPI’s to call out risks while building a sustainable trend model from channel partner data.
- Identify and act on opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve reporting using Netsuite with IT Team.
- Spend time with budget owners monthly to understand and document fluctuations in budget / forecast vs. actual results including key trends and year over year comparisons including the review of general ledger transactions to recommend consistent recording of expenses correlated accruals.
- Provide cost / benefit analysis of various initiatives to be used in operational decision-making to improve margin and SG&A costs (i.e. packaging, subscriptions, shipping, loyalty program).
- Create cash flow model to anticipate requirements including capital expenditures for weekly and monthly monitoring including working knowledge of balance sheet.
- Create and maintain quarterly forecast reporting for banks
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)6+ years of accounting and financial modelling / analysis experience, with at least 3 years in a retail settingIdeally you have worked in both a start-up and large company settings.Strong command of retail financial mechanics, including POS platforms, inventory costing, sell-through analysis, and gross margin componentsExpert-level Excel skills with Microsoft Power Query / Pivot for data transformation a plusProven NetSuite ERP experience, particularly in retail environmentsUnderstanding of US GAAP and internal controlsExcellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical mindsetDesired Attributes :
