Summary of Position

Engine & Accessory is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to head up the design and assembly specifications to support our tank truck division and assist Senior Engineer as required.  The duties of this roll will include the collection of data and the generation of engineering calculations to support the design and assembly of our products.  The individual will be responsible to research and analyze customer’s proposals and specifications to evaluate the layout and design requirements leading to the creation of drawings, bills of materials assembly books, manuals, and support to the production floor.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates design layouts and calculations to support sales staff.
  • Work collaboratively with sales team in relationship to customer design specifications.
  • Produces bills of material, design layout and parts drawings based on product specifications to support supply chain and production
  • Works with production on best practices for assembly procedures and supports drawings for assembly manuals.
  • Interface with automotive type controllers using a laptop computer and diagnostic software for programming, troubleshooting, and                   testing.
  • Manage any additional engineering or draftsman staff in the tank truck division in developing the structural design of products, using               drafting tools or drafting equipment and software.
  • Uses knowledge to improve design and manufacturing procedures.
  • Additional job-related functions as assigned by Senior Engineer.
  • Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects that may be required from time to time.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or another closely related engineering or engineering technology field.
  • Proficient knowledge in the use of Solid Works as well as AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and produce hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings.
  • Basic and intermediate knowledge of how manufacturing processes impact finish products
  • Understanding of electrical system integration understanding details such as automotive controllers, and CAN bus technology.
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrate strong performance working with a team in a collaborative environment.
