About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP Operations to direct and oversee the overall operations and site management of its Distribution Centers. The successful candidate will be responsible for negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements, ensuring the implementation of procedures that promote safety, efficiency, and profitability, and providing site leadership for standalone locations. This role involves strategic planning, integration of various operational activities, and participation in the establishment of business goals. The VP Operations will also be tasked with maintaining profitable operations, seeking synergies, and best practices, and ensuring compliance with government regulations and company programs. Candidates for the VP Operations position at the company should have a 4-year degree (preferred) or a High School Diploma (or GED) with equivalent experience, and a minimum of 10 years' of operations experience, with at least 5 years' in a management role. The role requires a strong background in D.O.T. regulations, labor relations, customer service, budgeting, and cost control, as well as knowledge of OSHA, HAACP, and other relevant regulations. The VP Operations will be expected to have excellent skills in personnel management, including the ability to delegate, enforce policies, and identify training opportunities. Networking and participation in industry organizations are also key aspects of the role.
