About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its newly unified environmental organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for uniting staff behind the mission, culture, and strategic direction, as well as leading the development and execution of a new strategic plan. This role involves representing the organization with various stakeholders, including partners, funders, policymakers, and the public. The Executive Director will also be tasked with cultivating and securing support from a range of sources, strengthening the visibility of the organization's mission, and serving as a spokesperson for clean water and river protection.
Candidates for the Executive Director position should have a minimum of 5 years' of senior nonprofit leadership experience, with a proven track record in fundraising and donor stewardship. Essential qualifications include strategic planning, strong team leadership, and a commitment to environmental stewardship and community well-being. The ideal candidate will have high emotional intelligence, humility, and a collaborative leadership style. Preferred qualifications include experience in environmental conservation, water issues, or advocacy, as well as familiarity with the Southeast region. The role also requires the ability to mentor and support staff, foster an inclusive workplace, and strengthen the organization's operations and financial planning.
