Purpose of the Position :
Prepares cost estimates by analyzing proposals, drawings, and requirements for a job / project.
Essential job functions :
- Prepares work to be estimated in detail for all products by gathering proposals, drawing information, specifications, and related documents
- Identifies material and labor (if required) by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents
- Reviews and evaluates cost estimates
- Computes costs and prepares cost analysis
- Communicates with vendors / suppliers and company personnel regarding new and current projects
- Ensures timely completion of estimates
- Understands scope of work to bid
- Manages bid pricing from vendors / suppliers
- Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data

Performs other activities as assignedKnowledge, skills and abilities :
Computer skills a must.Basic understanding of Microsoft Office.Experienced in Made2Manage ERP program or able to learn quickly.Skilled to work in a high-stress / fast-paced work environment.Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.3+ years' experience in construction estimatingAble to read drawings and develop cost estimatesAttention to detailPhysical Demands :
Hours : Monday - Friday 7 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Week : 40-50 hrs Lunch : 1 hr
Overtime may be required based on shop needs but must be pre-approved by management.)
