The Role

We are looking for a Senior Application Engineer to join our GitKraken Desktop team. In this hands-on role, you will contribute to our flagship product and collaborate with our product team to craft beautiful, innovative user experiences with a focus on usability, cohesiveness, and accessibility, while ensuring modularity and performance in code. Youll collaborate with back-end engineers to define and refine data models and APIs to ensure efficiency, security, and reliability. Our team is focused on creating innovative, user-friendly, and accessible tools and services that make a real difference in how developers and development teams collaborate and focus.

What you'll do

• Take ownership of features and enhancements, starting with helping to define technical and UX details with Product and QA, through collaborative implementation, code review, and ultimately to ongoing maintenance.
• Craft code patterns that are clear, maintainable, and adaptive to change.
• Identify and support opportunities to increase developer velocity through tactical and ongoing modernization of our very large codebase.

Location

This is a hybrid position based in Scottsdale, AZ. This role combines the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of meaningful in-person collaboration. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Phoenix area.
