This position is located at Army Aviation Support Facility #1, Jacksonville, FL, Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, Stare, FL. Conditions of employment include :
New employees of the Department of Military Affairs will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening.New employees of the Department of Military Affairs are required to participate in a direct deposit / electronic transfer program.The Department of Military Affairs is paid on a monthly basis.This position is a Cooperative Agreement position.As a candidate, you are required to provide documentation to verify meeting the minimum qualifications.Must be able to obtain a completion of a favorable National Agency Check background investigation clearance.Minimum requirements include :
A high school diploma or equivalent; andSeven (7) years of professional, full-time-equivalent experience in environmental engineering or related field; education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.Duties and responsibilities include :
Managing the hazardous waste turn-in program and operation of hazardous waste accumulation area.Tracking waste volumes received and storage times for compliance with EPA requirements for a small quantity generator.Completing and maintaining waste determination documentation of known and unknown waste streams.Conducting inspections of all universal and hazardous waste storage points.Serving as a point of contact for all hazardous material spills or releases.Assisting with environmental officer trainings.Maintaining and reviewing army, federal, state, and local environmental regulations / policies.Knowledge, skills, and abilities include :
Knowledge of the terminology, principles, and analytical techniques of the physical or natural sciences.Ability to collect, evaluate, analyze, and interpret scientific or technical data.Ability to prepare technical reports.Ability to use personal computers.Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to environmental programs.Ability to understand and follow legislative policy direction as established in Florida statutes.Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.Ability to work independently.Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.Ability to communicate effectively.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.Ability to operate a motor vehicle, fork lift and lift 50 pounds.
