Overnight RVT or Senior Veterinary Assistant- Emergency

About the Job :

Key Responsibilities :

  • Triage incoming patients
  • Monitor critical and fractious patients
  • Administer treatments and medications
  • Assist with diagnostic tests and emergency procedures
  • Ensure patient comfort and wellbeing
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners
  • Maintain equipment and supplies
  • Document patient care accurately
  • Engage in ongoing education and training

Compensation Range :

  • RVT : $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
  • SVA : $25.00 - $36.00 per hour
  • 5.50 / hr differential paid for any hours worked between 6pm - 6am
  • Hiring Bonuses :

  • 8,000 for Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVT) and $6,000 for Veterinary Assistants (SVA) for overnight roles (Full-time, new to SAGE hires)
  • Shift differentials : $5.50 / hr for any hours worked between 6pm - 6am
  • Work Schedule :
  • Overnights
  • Full-Time positions, 4 / 10 schedule
  • Basic Required Qualifications :

  • High school diploma
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, estimates, and other position-related tasks
  • Maintain California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire or transfer (waived if a valid CA-RVT license is held)
  • CA-RVT license preferred but not required
