As the IRB Specialist, Senior , you'll be a vital part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team that supports ethical research practices across Duke's diverse academic landscape. You'll work closely with faculty, students, staff, and administrators to ensure human subject research is conducted with integrity and in compliance with all applicable regulations.

What You'll Do : Campus IRB Support

• Advise and assist faculty, students, staff, and administrators in the design of ethical research, providing discipline-specific guidance using pre-review and consultation.
• Provide regulatory interpretation (federal, state, and local law, Duke and IRB policy) for faculty, students, staff, and administrators preparing research protocols.
• Conduct preliminary reviews of protocol submissions, including risk / benefit analyses and determination of the appropriate level of review.
• Write memoranda for researchers summarizing the outcome of pre-review, including rationale for proposed changes.
• Act as liaison between the IRB and Duke faculty, students, staff, and administrators.

Preferred Experience : Social, behavioral, and educational research IRB experience is strongly preferred.

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $61,535.00 to USD $95,880.00 .
