The Team :
The Senior Staff Accountant will report to the VP of Finance and be an integral part of the finance team. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records, preparing journal entries, and assisting with month-end close processes. The Senior Staff Accountant will also help ensure compliance with internal controls and assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
The Job :
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Assist Controller in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, coordinating with team members to meet deadlines.
Analyze financial data and trends to support strategic decision making, providing management with actionable insights.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies, staying current with updates to standards.
Coordinate with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and information to support audit activities.
Support internal controls and recommend process improvements to strengthen the financial reporting environment.
Mentor junior accounting staff and offer guidance on best practices, fostering professional development within the team.
Required Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
4+ years of experience in accounting, with a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
