Position Description :
Were seeking a WiFi Design Engineering Lead to support a large-scale Air Force Base Infrastructure Modernization Project . This position plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced wireless network solutions across multiple sites.
The ideal candidate is an expert in WiFi network architecture , RF design , and Ekahau-based analysis , with proven leadership skills to guide a team of engineers and deliver high-performance, secure, and reliable wireless connectivity solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
Network Design & Implementation
- Lead the end-to-end design, configuration, and deployment of enterprise WiFi networks, including access points, controllers, and wireless security architecture.
- Conduct and analyze RF site surveys using Ekahau to determine optimal access point placement and coverage.
- Develop WiFi heat maps, capacity models, and configuration documentation to ensure top performance and reliability.
- Implement industry best practices for wireless optimization, performance tuning, and network resilience.
Project & Team Leadership
Manage WiFi design projects from concept through delivery, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget goals are met.Mentor and guide junior engineers; provide hands-on technical direction and support.Collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, security, and project management teams.Documentation & Reporting
Maintain detailed design documents, network diagrams, and configuration records.Generate performance reports, analyze key metrics, and recommend improvements.Required Skills / Education :
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience designing and deploying enterprise WiFi networks.Proven leadership experience managing technical projects or teams.Deep understanding of 802.11 WiFi standards , RF design principles , and spectrum analysis .Proficiency with Ekahau or similar wireless design tools.Strong knowledge of LAN / WAN infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, and controllers.Certification : Must hold CWDP (Certified Wireless Design Professional) .Education : High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelors degree preferred).Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with enterprise wireless platforms such as Cisco, Aruba, or Ubiquiti .Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex network environments.Excellent communication and documentation abilities; able to explain technical details clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
