School Nurse - Elementary

Basehor-Linwood USD 458 is currently seeking a School Nurse for the 2025-2026 school year. LPN or RN certification required.

THE REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL NURSE (School Nurse) SHALL :

• Provide management and leadership of the school health service program, specifically to coordinate development of school health policies and procedures. The following is a minimum listing of policies and procedures to be developed for a school health services program :
• Communicable Disease Control / Mandatory Reporting Compliance
• Delegation of Nursing Care for Children with Special Health Needs
• Delegation of Medication Administration
• Emergency "First Response" Care
• Bloodborne Pathogens
• School Screening Programs
• Individual Health Care Plans (Development, Communication and Recording)
• Manage, plan and supervise the school screening program and make re-screen and referral decisions. The mandated screening services shall include the following :
• Hearing
• Vision
• Dental

The optional screening services shall include the following :

Physical Requirements : Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in the work environment. Regular attendance and / or physical presence at the job is required.
