Role : Senior Cobol / Systems Developer

We are Assisting our client in hiring a Sr Cobol / Systems Developer. This individual will be required to work onsite in a Hyrbid capacity. The qaulified individual will be a seasoned Systems Developer / Analyst with strong experience in COBOL , mainframe applications, and accounting systems to support and maintain a core platform.
Requirements :
- US Citizen or Green card holder (NO CORP TO CORP)
- 7+ years of experience in software development and systems analysis.
- Strong proficiency in COBOL development
- DB2 or SQL Server (queries, data integration ,etc)
- Understand accounting principles -payables / general ledger / receivables / policy development in insurance / agent compensation, etc.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with business and IT stakeholder
Desired Skills :
Experience in the insurance industry (policy administration, claims, or accounting).Background with IASJavaRoscoe or TSOResponsibilities :
You will be working with and be responsible for two different systems one that is a general ledger used for various things including; account payments, check eft, payments and disbursments. This application is heavy on batch files, SQL and Cobol. The second system is all Cobol and used for Agent complensation this application was developed internally.Analyze design, and implement modifications or new processes across systems.Maintain and trouble shooting of batch processes ( DOS .bat files) that feed into applications.Document system processes and workflows to support knowledge transfer and modernization.Benefits (employee contribution) :
