Mechanical Product Design Engineer

You will be the Mechanical Product Design Engineer for the PAC-3 production team. Our team is responsible for designing and developing missile and canister hardware, ensuring the highest quality and reliability of our products. As the Mechanical Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the production programs by designing subsystems and components, developing interfaces, and coordinating with various departments to resolve production issues and develop viable solutions. You will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and successful delivery of our products. Your responsibilities will include :

  • Screening and evaluating failures, defects, and production issues to develop effective solutions
  • Supporting product line validations and first article inspections
  • Designing subsystems and components, and developing interfaces with other systems
  • Coordinating with Stress, Materials, Production Operations, Quality Assurance, and other departments to ensure seamless collaboration
  • Developing and releasing engineering drawings and documents

This position is in Arlington, TX. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an Engineering related field
  • Skilled at creating and releasing part and assembly models and detailed drawings using Creo (ProEngineer) and Windchill
  • Experience creating drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100 standards
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5
  • Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic, inclusive, team environment
  • Limited Travel as necessary
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain it
  • Proficiency of Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Detail and process oriented
  • Desired Skills :

  • Previous Material Review Board experience
  • Ability to read and understand hardware production work instructions
  • Foundational communication and leadership skills
  • Previous Lockheed Martin and / or Missile program experience
  • Security Clearance Statement : This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

    Clearance Level : Secret

  • Ability to Work Remotely : Part-time Remote Telework : The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
  • Work Schedules : Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
  • Schedule for this Position : 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
