Position Overview

CorSource is actively seeking experienced Business Analyst within the energy and utilities sector. Ideal for an analytical professional who enjoys working in fast-paced environments, managing stakeholders, and supporting large-scale system, data, and process improvements.

Successful candidates will apply a combination of strategic thinking, technical documentation, and business process improvement to support program delivery, technology upgrades, compliance initiatives, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Elicit, document, and analyze business and technical requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and existing systems documentation
  • Translate stakeholder needs into business cases, use cases, process maps, and user stories
  • Conduct current and future state gap analysis and propose solution alternatives
  • Support feasibility studies, cost / benefit analysis, and what-if modeling to evaluate operational changes

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Gather, analyze, and interpret structured and unstructured data using Excel, SQL, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Forecast trends and generate insights to support strategic decisions
  • Perform data validation, audit system data, and develop reports for cross-functional teams
  • Create and maintain dashboards, performance metrics, and visualizations to track outcomes
  • Technical & Process Documentation

  • Develop technical and operational documentation such as standard operating procedures, system configuration notes, and support materials
  • Contribute to solution design documentation for IT systems, cybersecurity measures, and data integrations
  • Create end-user guides, training materials, and onboarding documentation
  • Project Support & Change Management

  • Support project delivery efforts including scope definition, schedule tracking, and stakeholder communications
  • Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and solution deployment activities
  • Assist in the development and execution of change management plans to support adoption of new tools and processes
  • Present analysis findings and recommendations to internal teams, executives, or project sponsors
  • Qualifications

    Required :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in business analysis, preferably in utilities, energy, or regulated environments
  • Demonstrated experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and business process improvement
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Experience with project methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall
  • Preferred :

  • Experience with data tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with IT system design, cybersecurity documentation, and operational support processes
  • Knowledge of utility metering systems, grid operations, customer service systems, or energy compliance standards
  • Background working in critical infrastructure, operations planning, or enterprise IT environments
  • Knowledge of process modeling tools and concepts (e.g., BPMN, UML)
