Quality Assurance Lead
Classification : Non-Exempt
Reports to : Quality Assurance Manager
Summary :
This position provides administrative support to the Quality Assurance Department. The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for in-process sampling of product to ensure that indicated quality specifications are met. The QA Lead must be cross functional in Food Safety to be able to perform in any area needed in the plant.
Essential Functions :
- Pull in-process samples
- Perform visual quality checks and execute measurement checks
- Auditing of production packets for all business segments
- Communicate Quality opportunities with production and quality stakeholders
Secondary Functions :
The Quality Assurance Lead is responsible for supporting production processes; maintains a presence on the floor and overseeing QA staff and attending to all questions as they ariseTakes ownership of production & quality recordsOversees the post-operational inspection to ensure the facility is prepared for an exceptional pre-operational inspectionPerforms audits on production packets for Quality AssuranceEnters trends and pareto information into databaseExecutes ATP and Environmental Swabs, then record dataEnforces Good Manufacturing Practices ("GMPs")Trains all department staff on the proper way to complete documents and to follow food safety procedures and protocolsGathers information / production packets as needed for audits or managementAssist in lot investigations and processingAdministrative duties such as but not limited to filing, distributing paperwork, typing, etc /Non-Essential Functions :
Filling out / completing PNR'sContinuous inspection of entire facility to ensure cleanliness standards are met and maintenance work orders are entered or escalatedQualifications (Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
Minimum two years' experience in quality, in food manufacturing or similar industryKnowledge of HACCP (preferred)Knowledge of PCQI (preferred)Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Ability to track and log measurementsGood written and verbal communication skills (Bilingual- English & Spanish a plus+)Education & Experience
High school diplomaPrevious manufacturing experience, preferably in bakingAdministrative experience, preferably in manufacturing environmentKnowledgeable and experienced in general food safety programs and policies- including government regulations, FDA, USDA, AIB, HACCP, GMP, and Allergen ProgramsPersonal Attributes
