Physical Therapist Job Details

Location : San Francisco, CA 94109 (California physical therapy jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel contract

Setting : Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) / Acute Rehab

Start Date : October 6, 2025

End Date : January 5, 2026

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : 8-hour days (08 : 00 – 16 : 30), Monday–Friday, 3 weekend shifts per month

Hours per Week : 40

Estimated Weekly Pay : $2710–$2920

Floating : Must be willing and able to float to other UCSF healthcare facilities as needed

Physical Therapist Qualifications

Active California Physical Therapist (PT) license

Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy (DPT) or bachelor's degree if graduated 15+ years ago

American Heart Association BLS certification

Minimum 1 year of experience in inpatient rehabilitation (IRF) setting

Experience with IRF-PAI documentation

Epic charting system experience preferred

COVID-19 vaccination (including booster) required; medical / religious exemptions considered

Physical Therapist Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive physical therapy services to adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients in an inpatient rehab setting

Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs for patients with orthopedic, cardiac, neurologic, and general med / surg diagnoses

Utilize adaptive devices, assistive technology, and specialty equipment as needed

Document patient progress and outcomes using IRF-PAI and Epic (preferred)

Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, home exercise programs, and safety measures

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care

Float to other UCSF facilities as required

Participate in weekend coverage (3 weekend shifts per month)
