DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION

CAADS seeks a full-time Director of Education to join our small, collaborative team in downtown Sacramento. Were a mission-driven trade association that helps adult day care facilities ensure Californians with dementia, intellectual / developmental disabilities, and chronic health conditions stay healthy and independent.
The Director of Education will develop and implement annual conferences, regular webinars, and other educational initiatives to support our mission. They will manage all educational activities and resources by overseeing event / project budgets, creating educational materials, coordinating events, evaluating outcomes, and implementing professional standards for CE compliance. Each year CAADS hosts 2 in-person conferences, 10+ webinars, and other in-person or virtual events, as needed. CAADS is also launching an online member forum to facilitate peer-to-peer learning and exploring the future use of a Learning Management System.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree and at least 3 or 4 years of experience providing high quality educational programs and online learning opportunities to professionals, preferably for associations; a track record of independently leading initiatives and collaboratively supporting team projects; and an excitement for learning new things in a supportive environment. Knowledge of aging, disability, and / or health care is a plus.

Hours : 40 hours per week, with additional hours on occasion
Setting : In-person, with occasional conference-related travel

Job requirements :
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
4-year college degree with minimum of 3 years of experience in conducting education and training events, preferably for a trade association.
KNOWLEDGE
Meeting / event planning principles including committee process; continuing education procedures; registration procedures; speaker, exhibitor and sponsor procurement; meeting logistics; vendor negotiations; and modern office methods and practices.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
Strong business writing, grammar, and communication skills.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient at managing multiple tasks.
Self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and meet deadlines.
Maintain accurate records and analyze information for effective decision-making.
Adaptable, flexible, and able to work gracefully under pressure with a positive attitude.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed on-site in a standard office environment. Requires occasional weekend work for event preparation and overnight travel for weekday conferences. Valid California drivers license required. CAADS is an equal opportunity employer.
