Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position in California, requiring a current CA RN license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of an acute care hospital
  • Care for a diverse population of laboring mothers and newborns
  • Night shifts available (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–07 : 00)
  • Floating required within hospital units and to affiliated mother baby and nearby hospitals
  • Epic EMR is used for charting and documentation
  • Weekend coverage required based on contract length
  • Must be flexible to work weekends according to unit needs
  • Expected to float between all facilities within the state as necessary
  • Returning staff are eligible after a 3-month break from previous employment at the facility
  • Must commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Scrub color is flexible; any color is acceptable
  • Free parking is provided
  • Completion of non-billable online modules is required prior to start and annually thereafter
  • References : Two supervisory references covering at least one year within the last three years are required for consideration
  • All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; post-submittal time-off requests may not be accommodated

    • Requirements

  • Active CA RN license must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM), and AWHONN Advanced
  • Precepting skills preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility for travel assignment eligibility
  • Pending licenses are not accepted
