We are seeking a skilled Firewall Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise to address business challenges, focusing on evaluating the effectiveness of security technologies and making recommendations for improvement. You will serve as a subject matter expert and contribute to complex assignments, ensuring security solutions meet both business and customer needs.

The Security team designs and supports security technologies, with a particular emphasis on firewall and web application security. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement security solutions that align with organizational objectives and contribute to the protection of our infrastructure. You will collaborate with different IT areas to enhance your technical skills and advance your career within network security and engineering roles.

This position requires end-to-end security analysis, including identifying potential risks, recommending and implementing improvements, and creating custom security signatures. You will also be expected to maintain standards for infrastructure and configuration while ensuring that all security protocols are followed. Strong knowledge of network security, application frameworks, and cryptography is essential. Effective communication and collaboration with teams across various levels are critical to success in this role.

Required Qualifications :

3+ years of professional experience in network or application security

Experience modeling API requests using tools like Postman

Understanding of web application attack vectors and API security

Ability to interpret web requests and responses

Experience in writing and reviewing system-level, user, and business requirements

Strong understanding of system architecture, network applications, and DNS

Familiarity with security standards such as OWASP Top 10

Experience in information security or related fields

Ability to investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches

Proficient in managing security alerts and tickets, ensuring timely resolution

Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines

On-call or after-hours support as needed in a rotating schedule

Experience with SIEM tools (Splunk preferred)

Hands-on experience with Web Application Firewall (WAF / WAAP) technologies

Experience working with SSL certificates

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a willingness to share knowledge

Preferred Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field

Experience with Akamai, Imperva, or similar WAF / WAAP solutions

Scripting experience (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Splunk dashboards, threat signatures)

Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible and Terraform

Experience managing cloud security (AWS / Azure) and identity & access management

Knowledge of version control systems like Git

Ability to perform packet captures (PCAPs) and analyze results

Experience with client-side protection (CSP) platforms
