PLANNER / MASTER SCHEDULING MANAGER
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Planner / Master Scheduling Manager plays a vital role in aligning manufacturing operations with demand and delivery expectations. This position owns the daily production schedule, ensuring execution meets plan while coordinating closely with Purchasing, Shipping / Receiving, and Sales. This individual contributes directly to operational efficiency by managing inventory, resolving variances, and ensuring timely completion of work orders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and long-range production schedules across multiple product lines, balancing customer demand, material availability, and manufacturing capacity.
- Drive schedule attainment by closely monitoring production progress, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective actions to ensure deadlines are met.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Planning, Purchasing, Shipping / Receiving, and Operations to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks or conflicts.
- Maintain and continuously improve the scheduling function within Oracle, ensuring work orders, BOMs, and part master data are accurate and current.
- Analyze raw material usage against forecasts, reconcile variances, and provide timely inventory insights to minimize waste and prevent stockouts.
- Partner with Sales and Engineering to create and input new part numbers, descriptions, and production routings into the ERP system.
- Lead the release and lifecycle tracking of work orders—from bench to completion—ensuring accuracy, timely execution, and optimal workflow.
- Generate and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production metrics, schedule adherence, inventory accuracy, and capacity utilization.
REQUIREMENTS
5+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.Strong proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle preferred) with an understanding of manufacturing workflows.You are skilled in identifying root causes for production variances and applying corrective action.You are Collaborative : You work well in a team setting and know how to manage through influence, not just authority.You are Learning Agile : With enthusiasm, credibility, communication skills, personality, and an in-depth understanding of the industry including market dynamics and customer needs.COMPENSATION
