Position Summary
As a Project Estimator at ASSETGUARD, you will play a vital role in accurately estimating the scope, costs, and timelines of industrial, municipal, oil and gas, irrigation, and other heavy industry projects. Your industry expertise will enable you to provide valuable insights and competitive bids. Collaborating closely with clients and project managers, you will evaluate project requirements, conduct site reviews when necessary, and prepare detailed, comprehensive estimates aligned with client needs. Your contributions will help uphold our mission of safeguarding assets and the environment.
Key Roles / Responsibilities :
- Evaluate project scope, specifications, and objectives in collaboration with clients and project teams.
- Analyze and interpret project drawings, technical specifications, and relevant documentation to determine scope of work.
- Coordinate with chemical manufacturers to evaluate and select the most suitable materials and processes tailored to the specific application.
- Prepare detailed estimates, including material quantities, labor costs, equipment, subcontractor quotes, and project timelines using industry-specific software and tools.
- Conduct market research for material prices, subcontractors, and labor rates to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure estimates align with project execution strategies.
- Present estimates to clients, addressing questions or concerns and providing value-engineering suggestions.
- Stay informed on industry trends, technological advancements, safety standards, and regulations affecting industrial projects.
- Assist in bid proposals, negotiations, and post-bid analyses as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of historical data, cost databases, and project estimates for future projects.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or college coursework in Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields preferred.Minimum of two (2) years of estimating experience in industrial, municipal, oil and gas, or heavy construction projects.Strong understanding of industrial project processes, materials, and safety standards.Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of estimating.Working Conditions :
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer.Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.May involve site visits or fieldwork to gather information or conduct site surveys.Ability to access and navigate industrial environments as required.Must follow safety protocols and wear PPE when on job sites.Capable of understanding and following written and verbal instructions, even amidst interruptions.Benefits :
