POSITION SUMMARY :
We are a New York based commercial furniture dealer and interior construction sub-contracting firm, seeks an Accounts Payable Manager. The successful candidate will join a fast paced and dynamic team and will be part of a collaborative culture.
The Accounts Payable Manager oversees and manages all aspects of the accounts payable function to ensure timely, accurate processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments. This role is responsible for implementing best practices, improving processes, and ensuring strong internal controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and thrives in a project-driven, entrepreneurial environment where taking ownership is key.
To be considered for this position you should have 3-5 years relevant experience, understanding of standard industry software and strong communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO :
- Manage the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment processing.
- Oversee the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices, purchase orders, and employee expense reports.
- Ensure all AP transactions comply with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls.
- Maintain accurate vendor files, W-9 documentation, and payment terms.
- Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries and issue resolution.
- Negotiate payment terms and manage vendor relationships to optimize cash flow.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Project Management, and Operations, to resolve PO or invoice discrepancies.
- Prepare AP-related reports, including aging summaries, cash requirements, and accruals.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close for AP-related items.
- Ensure compliance with sales tax, 1099 reporting, and audit requests.
REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.3+ years of Accounts Payable experience.Strong knowledge of AP systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Understanding of the commercial furniture or construction industry preferred.Experience with automated AP workflows and digital invoice management tools.Knowledge of New York State tax and compliance requirements.COMPENSATION / BENEFITS :
