What this job involves :
As a Chiller Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on chiller systems within a specific geographic territory. Your role will focus on identifying and implementing energy-saving opportunities, conducting quality control audits, and providing technical support to local engineering teams. You'll be instrumental in ensuring the efficient operation of HVAC systems and contributing to energy conservation efforts.
Your day-to-day tasks will include :
- Performing annual and semi-annual preventive maintenance on water-cooled and air-cooled chiller systems, including cooling towers and pumps
- Conducting energy audits to identify potential system and operational improvements for reducing energy consumption
- Providing technical assistance and hands-on repair guidance to local engineering teams
- Conducting building evaluations and making recommendations for operational improvements
- Producing deficiency reports for supervisors based on quality control audits and inspections
- Troubleshooting and repairing various chiller systems from different manufacturers
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with industry standards, codes, and regulations
Desired experience and technical skills :
Requirements :
Minimum of 10 years' experience in commercial HVAC service and repairs, with a focus on hands-on chiller repair & maintenanceSuccessful completion of a vocational degree program, apprenticeship, or comparable work experienceUniversal EPA CertificationProficiency in using industry-standard tools and equipmentKnowledge of codes, laws, and regulations affecting commercial real estate operationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficiency in using computers, including Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applicationsAbility to work in various environmental conditions and perform physical tasksPreferred :
