Uptown Community Health Center has over 100 associates across , Bruner Family Medicine, Caritas Internal Medicine and Seton Women's Center, Financial Counselors and Administrative Team.

Job Summary

The Director of Pharmacy is a leadership role that includes direct patient care responsibilities as a pharmacy provider working for Uptown Community Health Center (UCHC), and administrative responsibilities for UCHC. This full-time position has a flexible balance of direct patient care and administrative duties that span across multiple clinical sites for UCHC, with the overall responsibility to provide leadership and oversight to all ongoing pharmacy services for the organization, which might include 340B Drug Pricing Program, Clinic Administered Medication compliance, establishing and growing an entity owned pharmacy. The Director of Pharmacy is expected to function as a subject matter expert (SME) on pharmacy services, both to direct patient care providers and associates as well as executive leadership.

The Pharmacy Director must be a positive example of all clinical, regulatory, professional, and human resources expectations of UCHC. This includes being a role model of Uptown Community Health Center Service Behaviors and Patient-Centered Medical Home philosophy to enable the medical staff to consistently follow and display these concepts.

Essential Functions

Oversee clinical pharmacy services including but not limited to, comprehensive medication reviews, collaborative patient visits, disease-specific interventions, patient education and counseling, and medication dispensing. Ensure that all pharmacy services are compliant with Federal and State regulations and statutes, including appropriate licensure, certifications and accreditations. Ensure that pharmacy services are in compliance with all departmental policies

Develop and implement policies and procedures for pharmacy operations at all sites, including 340B Drug Purchasing Program

Oversee and maintain compliance with 340B Drug Purchasing Program Vaccines For Children and 317 programs.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for pharmacy operations at all sites related to Clinic Administered Drugs and Immunizations.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for pharmacy operations at all sites related to available Patient Assistance Programs, including industry programs as well as governmental programs, for medications and durable medical equipment (DME) such as continuous glucose monitors, etc.

Develop and implement policies and procedures for pharmacy operations at all sites related to Entity Owned Pharmacy

Set performance goals and operational objectives for pharmacy and pharmacy programs.

Collect data and generate reports as needed to monitor performance goals and assess operational objectives.

Collaborate with CFO and Finance Department to create annual pharmacy budget. Oversee all pharmacy purchases and inventory management.

Consult and collaborate with health care providers, department managers and directors, site leaders and Executive leadership to improve and implement internal and external processes. Provide information and training on pharmacy services to departments within the organization

Ensure compliance with State Board of Pharmacy Collaborative Drug Therapy Management (CDTM) protocols.

Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure all pharmacy sites are properly registered with outside vendors and third-party payers.

Attends and actively participates in required UCHC leadership meetings where they are the SME related to pharmacy topics

Ensures compliance with organizational policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

Identifies opportunities for quality and performance improvement initiatives. Leads department improvement initiatives when directed.

Provide education as assigned on company principles, mission, vision, and values.

Other duties as assigned.

Licensure / Certification

Doctorate of Pharmacy from accredited school of pharmacy

Valid Pharmacy license in good standing in Colorado.

Board certification / eligibility based on education and specialty.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Qualifications and Experience

Required :

5+ years leadership in ambulatory pharmacy management

Demonstrated knowledge of 340B program regulatory and compliance procedures as well as program issues, trends, and challenges

Preferred :

Experience with Epic application and health record

Experience working with and sensitivity toward special populations, including those with limited income, limited education, and non-English speaking individuals

Bilingual English / Spanish - complete comprehension, literacy, and fluency in both languages
