About the Role
The Company is in search of a Head of Props to join its Las Vegas production. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Production team, responsible for the day-to-day management of the Props Department. This includes overseeing the crew, show running positions, and all technical and safety aspects related to the construction, repair, purchase, and maintenance of props and consumables. The role also involves participating in the hiring, training, and evaluation of department members, as well as maintaining the special events props inventory and logistics. The Head of Props will be expected to contribute to the company's health and safety culture and may be required to travel for special events.
Applicants for the Head of Props position at the company should possess effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, as well as a thorough knowledge of theatrical technologies. The role requires the ability to make administrative decisions, demonstrate project management abilities, and work effectively in a team environment. A background in technical management with a focus on props in large-scale theatrical productions, touring, or special events is essential, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree in Theatre or a related field. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in prop construction and finishing methods, basic knowledge of pneumatics and electricity, and the ability to work with diverse populations. Proficiency in Microsoft applications, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite is necessary, along with the potential to develop skills in maintaining and troubleshooting unique musical instruments and equipment.
