The purpose of this position is to lead a team that manages VisionFund Internationals (VFI) Philanthropy related fundraising efforts globally as well as middle market corporate and institutional related efforts in the North America this position will engage primarily through WV US and WV Canada and Internationally primarily through the World Vision Philanthropy Alliance.
This person will also ensure the provision of direct technical microfinance fundraising support on major proposals by bringing in the appropriate resources and will coordinate with the Program Support capabilities within the Resource Development & Management Team to ensure that donor commitments are met.
In coordination with the WVUS Economic Empowerment CDO this person will be a key contributor to the Philanthropy Fundraising Plan for Capital Campaigns and donor initiated special projects supporting and training their Rep Salesforce in their funding target acquisition.
Finally this person will work with FAST (Finance Accelerating Savings Group Transformation) Insurance Disaster Finance WASH Humanitarian and Environmental stewardship Initiative / sectors leaders to ensure that VisionFund International (VFI) is well positioned to raise funds for these innovative programs through global business plans and participate in the development of new products aligned to World Visions Economic Empowerment Ministry that show potential for funding growth for VisionFund.
Key Responsibilities
US Microfinance Fundraising
- Lead the team that Manages VisionFunds collaborative fundraising partnership with WV US.
- Drive WV US commitment to fundraising for VisionFund with needed donor interaction advice reports input on strategies and approaches for fundraising and marketing and linkages for interaction with VFI staff.
- As requested by WV US support and train the Philanthropy Foundations Corporate and International Program team members and subject matter experts and ensure technical leadership is provided where necessary.
- As requested by WV US help develop and nurture donor relationships by providing needing microfinance expertise or where needed introducing additional resources.
- Manage and solve project and implementation issues as they arise liaising with relevant stakeholders. Demonstrating Integrity Honesty transparency and quick responses that offer solutions to identified problems to equip Fundraising Reps and WVUS Leadership with the ability to inform and retain donors.
- Work with WV US to develop new fundraising products materials and approaches based on emerging Industry Standards and noteworthy results from high performing MicroFinance Institutions.
- Work with VFI Marketing VFI Field Operations and WVUS Marketing and Programs teams to develop materials and donor language that improve donor understanding and commitment to VFIs impact.
- Work with both WV US and VisionFund teams to ensure the systems are in place to have donations reach their intended purpose and that within VisionFund we fulfil the donor promise with particular focus on critical products such as Recovery Lending for Resilience.
- Work with WV US and VFI Global Asset Management Director to raise long-term low-cost debt whether through our Impact Investment offerings or larger tranches from global development banks in conjunction with the VFI Treasury Team.
WVI Philanthropy Initiative
Oversee collaborative microfinance fundraising efforts and processes that diversify VFs Funding around the WVI partnership. Develop a broader partnership with WVI and its global fundraising efforts. Solve implementation issues and advise and train the WVI fundraising team.Advise and train World Vision Support Office philanthropy teams interested in raising funds for VisionFund based on the specific products they currently present to their donor base and how microfinance work can be inserted as support to these existing products.Innovative Program Related Fundraising
Work with Savings Group Linkage (FAST) Insurance Disaster Finance Humanitarian Response WASH Environmental stewarship and Youth Program leadership within VFI to ensure that VisionFund is well positioned to raise funds for these innovative programs including focus on new products like Urban THRIVE or a humanitarian finance product.Support positioning of VFI as an Innovative Leader within the livelihoods space
Working collaboratively with the Chief Economic Development Officer in WV US and the WVI fundraising leadership ensure appropriate VisionFund representation in microfinance fora including leadership speaking presentations workshops and donor conferences.Knowledge Skills and Capabilities

The position requires ability and willingness to travel 3 0% of the time (primarily domestic travel with occasional donor trips to developing world countries and VFI events).For positions filled in the United States the typical salary range for this role is $102000 to $140000 USD. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market job type job level internal equity and budget. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidates skills qualifications experience and geographic location.
