We work closely with our customers to create unique flavor elements to ice cream bases and yogurt preps. Many of our ingredients end up in easily recognizable brands on the store shelf as we produce for both international corporations as well as smaller, local brands. Our Research and Development is done in-house so we get to witness the whole process from ideation to creation. Maintenance Department Supervisor

Job Summary : Provides strategic planning and support to maintenance department team members, serving the internal customers’ needs in ensuring equipment and machinery is in optimal condition. Responsible for preparing Work orders and Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules, preparing parts, assigning Work Order’s (WO), ordering parts, prioritizing work around downtime and level of urgency. They will also be responsible for maintaining our consumable inventory as well as our critical spare inventory. This person will need to participate in performing PM’s and WO’s to be familiar with the workings of the factory and will be responsible for updating the PM list and adding new PM’s for new equipment. This person should be familiar with the shop environment, associated parts, and safe conduct. The maintenance supervisor will work closely with other department managers to ensure planning and execution of maintenance functions are carried out in a collaborative effort in the best interest of the company; ensuring customer impact is minimal. Accountable for equipment and facility maintenance, employee safety, scheduling, payroll, and employee morale. Work week Tuesday – Saturday but must be flexible. Flexible hours, primarily assigned to day shift.
Essential Functions :
Work safely and promote a safe work environmentMake decisions based on, and that contribute to, the quality and food safety of the plant’s output.Responsible for promoting and maintaining high morale of the Maintenance team members.Responsible for team members' adherence to GMPs and safety policies.Responsible for reporting payroll, time, and attendance of team members.Accountable for team member adherence to BOLI guidelines limiting allowable working hours.Responsible for creating and maintaining standard work, PM’s, and daily accountability.Responsible for having a full understanding of appropriate maintenance functions.Responsible for adhering to the Code of Conduct and holding team members to such standards.Capable of performing maintenance functions in the absence of technicians or with technicians.Troubleshoot and maintain processing equipment both mechanical and electrical.Inspect, recognize potential problems and take appropriate action to prevent component failure.Monitor machinery to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to schedule and develop routine and preventative maintenance schedules, while exuding scheduling flexibility when equipment fails.Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to develop, teach, and maintain best practices.Collaborate with other department managers to conduct maintenance repairs with as little impact on the production of our product as possible.Assist team leaders and machine operators in efficient line start-up and equipment adjustmentsPerform building maintenance and repairs as neededMaintain documentation related to maintenance tasks.Weld and fabricate machinery when necessary.Maintenance, repair, service or installation may include but not limited to :Pumps / motors / gearboxesConveyor systemsAC / DC controlsPneumaticsFrequency control drivesHydraulic and electrical equipmentRefrigeration / Freezer systems and controlsElectronic controlsSteam components and controlsAdhere to all company policies, GMPs, and SOPsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
Limited Maintenance Electrician License is highly preferred but not required.Bi-lingual in English / Spanish is a plus, but not necessary.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and to create procedures.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Ability to solve abstract or strategic problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited information exists.Detail oriented and organized. Responsible for creating, modifying and maintaining an accurate inventory control system and PM and WO system.Schedule maintenance contractors and be available for them upon arrival.Capable of sourcing parts, including research, ordering and distribution.Assign work orders as needed, and stage materials needed for work orders.Ability to make and justify timely decisions when the answer isn’t readily apparent.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and some understanding of MRP.Working Conditions / Physical Factors :
