With the move to the cloud, Kubernetes has become widely adopted by DevOps and Platform Engineering teams, but it has also added complexity. While scaling Kubernetes at Intuit, Akuity founders started building Argo CD to streamline Kubernetes adoption. Argo CD helps developers own, understand and deploy their K8s deployments via GitOps. Today, Argo CD is the third most popular project in the CNCF (Cloud Native Computing Foundation) and is used by 70% of companies who are using Kubernetes in production. The team founded Akuity in 2021 to enable enterprises to ship software faster and more reliably with modern GitOps best practices. Trusted by top companies around the globe, the Akuity Platform enables teams to manage the development and deployment across hundreds – if not thousands – of Kubernetes clusters from a single control plane. Our mission is to simplify the software delivery process so that DevOps and Platform Engineering teams can move fast, and deploy code effortlessly without the fear of breaking things.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Developer Advocate to join our growing team and lead community engagement for Akuity with discussions on Argo CD and Kargo. This person will connect with our developer community, champion their needs, and share our technology in authentic, engaging ways. You'll create high-quality technical content, speak at industry events, and help drive adoption by building trust with developers. This is a highly visible, community-facing role ideal for someone with hands‑on technical experience (e.g., Platform Engineering, SRE, or DevOps) who thrives in startup environments and has a passion for developer advocacy and enablement.

What You'll Do

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on Argo CD and Kargo, staying closely aligned with open-source community discussions and the development roadmap.
• Create and deliver talks at conferences, webinars, and technical trainings, becoming a visible thought leader in the Argo / Kargo ecosystem.
• Actively engage with developers across channels : community forums, GitHub, meetups, and industry events.
• Produce high-impact technical content, including technical blog posts, tutorials, demos, and videos that resonates with DevOps practitioners and platform teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to surface developer feedback and influence product direction.
• Champion community growth by building relationships, responding to questions, and nurturing an inclusive, active user base.
• Serve as a trusted point of contact within the Argo CD community, helping drive awareness, education, and adoption of Akuity's platform.
• Represent Akuity externally at conferences and DevOps events (quarterly travel ~20%).
