About the Role
The Director of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is a strategic and operational leader responsible for maximizing the value of Workday and our HR technology ecosystem. This role ensures seamless system functionality, data integrity, analytics capability, and optimized processes that elevate the Playmaker experience and support enterprise growth. You'll spearhead HR digital transformation while guiding teams, influencing strategy, and bridging business needs with technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute the HRIS strategy and roadmap aligned with organizational goals.
Partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities to leverage Workday to drive business outcomes.
System Management
Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and optimization of Workday to meet organizational needs.
Manage system upgrades, enhancements, and new feature releases in partnership with HRIT.
Ensure Workday functionality delivers an intuitive and high-quality user experience.
Data Management & Reporting
Ensure data accuracy, security, governance, and compliance across all HR systems.
Develop and manage robust reporting, analytics, and dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making and self-service.
Process Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency across HR operations.
Lead initiatives to simplify business processes and reduce manual or complex effort within Workday.
Team Leadership
Lead Tier 1 (end-user support), Tier 2 (problem-solving / business consultation), and Analytics (reports and dashboards) teams.
Foster a culture of service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Vendor Management
Manage relationships with HRIS vendors and consultants, ensuring SLAs and deliverables are met.
Oversee contract negotiations and budgeting for HRIS-related projects and services.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure HR systems comply with applicable laws, regulations, and policies.
Implement controls to mitigate risks related to HR data and business processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with multi-brand HR teams, IT, and other functional areas to ensure Workday aligns with organizational needs and integrates with other systems.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications and configuration through effective liaison work.
What You Bring
Minimum of 10 years of HRIS or related experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
At least 5 years of hands-on Workday HCM experience operating in-house.
Strong understanding of HR processes, data management, workflows, and reporting structures.
Deep proficiency in Workday Core HCM, Security, Benefits, Time Tracking / Absence, Payroll, Recruiting, Talent, and Learning.
Proven success managing system implementations, upgrades, or enhancements.
Completion of Workday training modules (HCM Fundamentals, Configurable Security Fundamentals, Business Process Fundamentals, etc.) required.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
Professional certifications (SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PMP, etc.) preferred.
