Senior Engineer - Telemetry Management

POSITION DESCRIPTION :

We are looking for a Senior Engineer specializing in Telemetry Pipelines to join our Solutions Architecture & Development team to architect and build high-performance data ingestion and transformation pipelines for our data center energy management platform. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in time-series data processing, protocol translation, and building ETL pipelines that bridge industrial systems with modern observability platforms. They will work closely with engineering teams to normalize diverse telemetry sources into standardized formats. This position will be based remotely and requires someone who can design robust, scalable pipelines that handle millions of data points per second while maintaining data quality and semantic consistency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement high-throughput telemetry pipelines ingesting data from industrial devices via Modbus, BACnet, SNMP, and proprietary protocols
• Build protocol translation layers converting raw industrial data into OPC-UA information models and OpenTelemetry metrics / traces
• Develop semantic transformation engines that apply tagging, contextualization, and enrichment to time-series data streams
• Optimize pipeline performance for processing millions of data points per second with minimal latency and data loss
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and anomaly detection within the ingestion pipeline
• Create buffering and retry mechanisms to handle network interruptions and ensure data durability
• Build configurable mapping frameworks allowing customers to define custom protocol translations and data transformations
• Integrate with edge computing platforms to perform data processing close to source systems
• Collaborate with data standards team to ensure pipeline outputs comply with OPC-UA companion specifications
• Design scalable architectures supporting both real-time streaming and batch historical data ingestion

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
