Customer Service Representative
Saint-Gobain, Wayne, NJ is hiring for a Customer Service Representative position. This role is onsite and operates Monday-Friday from 9am to 6pm. The Customer Service position manages product order requests originating from customers, field sales teams, and other internal or external sources. It serves as the primary internal point of contact for regional customers and functions as a liaison between company operations, customers, and field sales personnel.
Responsibilities include : receiving, reviewing, processing, editing, expediting, and canceling orders as needed. The role abides by company policies and procedures at an appropriate level. It also responds to inquiries and takes necessary action according to SOP's and work instructions. The position serves as a liaison between internal operations and field sales personnel, customers, branches, etc. It receives and reviews complaints and takes appropriate action to resolve according to SOP's and work instructions. It receives and reviews, processes orders according to SOP's, work instructions, and / or special instruction from the supervisor. It reviews and processes customer forecasts and reconciles CUMs for EDI orders. It obtains Customer Sales Tax Certificates as required. It generates special reports as required or directed. It advises customers of pick-up, revised shipping dates, price discrepancies, etc. according to SOP's and work instructions. It processes order cancellations. It participates in the annual Physical Inventory as directed by the supervisor. It participates in self-development and training of others. It performs other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business. It exhibits safety awareness and safe work practices. It maintains necessary records as required by SOP's and work instructions. It understands all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.
Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline or at least 3 years equivalent work experience. Excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills including telephone, written and verbal, exceptional math skills are necessary to fulfill department requirements. Computer skills including Excel and Word are necessary to fulfill requirements of the position. The role is self-motivated and able to make independent decisions.

The pay rate for this position is $25 to $27 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.
