Project Manager
The Project Manager works collaboratively with external customers and internal departments to ensure the successful production of personal care products across multiple categories including cosmetics, skincare, haircare, and fragrance. The position drives cross-functional collaboration with teams including Production, Engineering, R&I, Quality, Supply Chain, and Commercialization to ensure the customer's requirements are anticipated and delivered. This requires in-depth understanding of the different functional groups and how they interact. The position is also a vital point-of-contact for key customer accounts. BMSC supports the growth and development of global beauty brands through the innovation of new product and the support of replenishment production. This position acts as a liaison between Marketing and BMSC's R&I team for new formulations. They work with the customer's replenishment teams to ensure KPIs are being tracked, communicated, and developed. The role may also manage a team of direct reports to support these goals.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Ensure the successful development, production, and delivery of customer requirements.
- Manage internal and external cross-functional teams to align on goals and milestones to meet customer demands.
- Align the constraints and capacity of production with the requirements of the customer through the Scheduling team.
- Drive product enhancements that improve quality, cost, and / or other strategic initiatives.
- Review project trackers, reports, and analyses to determine gaps and find solutions to minimize operational disruption.
- Monitor and assess risks and develop mitigation plans to reduce impact.
- Regularly review inventory levels and initiate inventory management processes
- Assess, quote and validate new products and customers.
- Learn external customers' current brand portfolio and identify new product opportunities.
- Meet with Customer Marketing Teams and act as a liaison to the R&I team to drive new innovations and align on market trends.
- Ensure the team has the appropriate tools, processes, and people in place to be able to support internal and external customer business needs.
- Provide status reports and business assessments to executive and customer stakeholders.
- Remain in compliance with SOPs related to Sales that include, but are not limited to, Training, Customer Complaints, Product Recalls, Notices of Event (NOE), CAPAs, QC Standards, and OTC stability.
- Additional duties and / or special projects as required by Senior Management.
- Additional functions for PM with direct reports include : Performance Reviews, Travel Budgets, Mentoring & Coaching, and Senior Management Meetings.
Technical Skills Required
Proficiency in Project Management, timeline creation, and execution.Strong skills in demand planning, forecasting, and order management.Understanding of manufacturing processes, capabilities, and operational requirements.Understanding of Supply Chain, MRP, and Demand Planning.Basic understanding of Quality and Development Processes.Strong oral and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).Experience Required
Bachelor's degree required.5+ years of experience in CPG industry, preferably in Personal Care / Beauty Care contract manufacturing.Accreditation and / or certification in project management.Experience working with ERP systems, such as SAGE, SAP, or Oracle.Physical Requirements
