Summary

As an Emergency Medical Technician, you will provide vital medical care to individuals experiencing emergencies. Your role includes delivering advanced life support care from the first moment of contact until the patient is handed off to hospital staff.

Job Duties

• Represent LVHN at public service events and provide standby ambulance services as needed.
• Create detailed assessments and document treatments accurately using patient care charting software.
• Deliver medical, traumatic, and therapeutic services to patients in various crises.
• Work as part of a two-member ambulance crew responding to emergency and non-emergency situations.
• Utilize advanced life support equipment such as resuscitators, defibrillators, and ECGs.
• Assess injuries or illnesses to prioritize medical procedures for effective patient care.
• Respond promptly to dispatcher instructions and operate emergency vehicles safely.
• Administer medications through various methods under physician direction.
• Collaborate with medical personnel to obtain treatment guidance when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the ambulance after treating patients, including decontaminating surfaces as necessary.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift over 50 lbs, push / pull up to 140 lbs, and carry 80 lbs short distances. Frequent standing, walking, and various physical activities are required.
