Job Description

This role will require 3 days onsite in Mettawa, IL. The Convention Sr. Specialist will oversee / manage the in-house digital technology for conventions and manage smaller-scale conventions. Additional responsibilities include assisting Convention Managers with budget management, vendor coordination, PO processing, and maintaining the AbbVie US Commercial convention master calendar. Digital Technology Product Expert

  • Acts as the internal digital tools expert for conferences, specifically the Conference App and Dashboard.
  • Owns the national pre-show process for specific brands, including setup, training, and quality checks.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots Conference Connect and Dashboard for assigned brands.
  • Performs manual data sorting / matching for conventions as needed.
  • Serves as the point person for IT, providing setup instructions, issue resolution, and enhancements.
  • Creates user materials such as guides, FAQs, and communication about enhancements.
  • Implements new enhancements, managing requirements, testing, and rollout.
  • Project management for smaller conventions, including budgeting, vendor coordination, and compliance.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to strategize and execute conventions.
  • Reports on post-convention performance and data, and manages financial responsibilities.
  • Maintains the conventions master calendar, updating dates and locations, and filling gaps through research.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing or equivalent experience.
  • At least 1+ years of experience in client service, account, or response management.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to learn new technology.
  • Availability for long workdays during conventions, with travel of approximately 30-35% domestically.
  • Preferred Requirements include experience in Pharma Industry, Exhibit Management, Purchase Order Processing, Veeva CRM, and Digital Product Management.
