Swim Instructor
Little Flippers Swim is looking for a year-round swim instructor who will provide a safe, enjoyable and educational aquatic experience for children and families. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be comfortable in the water, value impacting children through teaching life-saving skills and possess the desire to be part of a local, small business. Experience teaching Parent / Tot and Technique classes required.
Responsibilities :
- Instructing all swim lesson participants using the Little Flippers Swim curriculum.
- Begin and end class on time, remaining afterwards to answer participant and / or parent questions.
- Focusing on educating participants on proper technique and promoting swimmer safety.
- Providing for the health and safety of participants by ensuring that teaching and practice areas are free of hazards, and that materials and equipment are in safe, working order.
- Immediately reporting any safety issues and / or concerns to designated individual.
- Consistently following all safety rules, pool rules and regulations.
- Responding to all accidents and / or emergencies in accordance with Little Flippers Swim approved protocols.
- Consistently presenting a professional experience and courteous attitude, maintaining high standards of customer service.
- Providing on-time submittals of skills assessment, certificates, and attendance via the staff portal.
- Attending mandatory meetings and instructor development trainings as scheduled.
- Staying informed about important news and announcements by regularly logging into the staff portal.
- Wearing appropriate attire when representing Little Flippers Swim.
- Completing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications : Required :
18 years of age or older.Enjoys children and working with them.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.Ability to demonstrate skills as required for class content and use teaching aids such as kkckboards, diving rings, etc.Ability to work independently and demonstrate energy and enthusiasm.Ability to problem solve and use creative thinking.Ability to pass pre-employment practical skills test in water.Previous aquatics / instructor experience.Preferred :
Current CPR / AED certificate (willing to become CPR certified within 30 days of hire).Customer Service experience.Requirements :
Able to work in up to 90 degree water for up to 4 hours.Able to lift up to 50 pounds, including moving equipment and physically assisting students in / out of the water.Able to work in a cold, hot, and noisy environment.Able to climb in and out of the pool.Able to tread water for 5 minutes or more.Able to work afternoon / evening shifts and Saturday mornings.Locations : Positions available in Chandler and Queen Creek.
Job Type : Part-time. Pay : $16.00 - $18.00 per hour.
