The unit based RN1 may function as a charge nurse or support the charge nurse on the unit as the second nurse. They will also be responsible for coordinating with the members of the multi-disciplinary team, the delivery of patient care on assigned inpatient units. Duties will include working with the unit MDs in assessing, monitoring and implementing, therapeutic orders and interventions designed to promote patient recovery. The RN1 will monitor the implementation of varying nursing processes and provide supervision to the nursing staff assigned to the respective units. They will function as preceptor to new RN staff; provide groups on inpatient units as able. Coordinate and provide nursing care to individuals; administer medications & treatments and nursing procedures within established guidelines and as prescribed by licensed health care providers; and consult on nursing matters with treatment teams and other disciplines
