This major medical center houses one of the world's largest neurological disease treatment and research institutions, consistently ranked as one of the best neurosurgical training centers in the United States. The facility is a Level 1 Trauma center with a 32-bed Neuro ICU that specializes in complex neurological cases including craniotomies, brain tumor removal and ablations, brain biopsies, complicated spine surgeries, and scoliosis repair. The hospital provides 24 / 7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, with charge nurses who do not take patient assignments to focus on unit management.
