PBS is a private, non-profit corporation founded in 1969, whose members are America’s public TV stations, noncommercial, educational licensees operating over 330 PBS member stations across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa. PBS creates content that educates, informs, and inspires, offering programming for children, documentaries, news programs, and arts and culture shows. PBS has evolved into a multi-platform leader, reaching audiences via television, web, mobile, and interactive platforms.

Annually, 80% of U.S. households watch PBS, with over 206 million viewers. Monthly, PBS content is accessed 375 million times across digital platforms. PBS reaches more children and caretakers than any other children’s TV network, with extensive documentary and arts programming. During the COVID-19 pandemic, PBS played a vital role in at-home learning, reaching millions of children and parents digitally and via TV.

The PBS Foundation, established in 2004, is the national fundraising arm for PBS, seeking philanthropic gifts and grants at the national level, and is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting organization to PBS.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Aspen Leadership Group is partnering with the PBS Foundation to find a Senior Director, Institutional Giving.

Reporting to the Executive Director, PBS Foundation, the Senior Director will be responsible for generating philanthropic support from private foundations, corporations, and government entities. The role involves managing a portfolio of prospects, cultivating relationships, and securing funding aligned with PBS’s priorities.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of experience in fundraising from private foundations and corporate sectors.
