Job Description :

KFSN-TV / ABC30 Action News, the ABC Owned Television station in Central California, is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, tech-savvy news enthusiast to join our leading digital news team. The ideal Digital Producer will create, edit, and produce content for our digital, social, and connected TV platforms. This person must thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced news environment, leading our coverage on breaking news and creating compelling content that resonates with our audience.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and post breaking news, weather, sports, traffic, and other content on ABC30.com, social media platforms, our apps, and all other digital platforms.
  • Optimize content for maximum reach and impact using insights and SEO strategies.
  • Manage social media presence and engage the audience.
  • Collaborate with news managers, assignment editors, producers, reporters, and anchors.
  • Develop and share content optimized for each platform.
  • Work with other ABC stations on national stories.
  • Own breaking news and major stories with speed and accuracy.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Minimum of one year of experience working in a newsroom or similar fast paced news environment.
  • Flexible hours, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong editorial skills and news judgment.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and copy-editing skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience managing digital media in a Content Management System (CMS).
  • Proficient in AP Style.

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Knowledge of Central California and bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Prior newsroom experience.
  • Ability to shoot and edit video.
  • Familiarity with Adobe products (Photoshop, Premiere).
  • Strong understanding of SEO, social media best practices, and digital metrics / analytics.

    • Required Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism (or related field) or equivalent work experience.

    • The hiring range for this position in Fresno, CA is $46,200 to $61,900 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and / or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
