Information Network Systems Administrator I : Full-Time

Valley Hope is expanding our Information Systems team by adding a Network & Systems Administrator. This position will start out working on-site at our of our facilities; however, the option to work from home may be available after 90 days of employment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required :

  • Associate degree in computer science, information system management, information technology, or related fields, or other technology certified training.
  • Three (3) plus years of work experience in computer‐systems related discipline or equivalent professional / academic training (with related certification program).
  • Prior work in customer service / customer satisfaction services.
  • Advanced understanding of information technology systems including end‐user computing devices, software, applications, server, and network systems.
  • Valid unrestricted driver’s license

Preferred :

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information system management, information technology, or other related fields.
  • Five (5) plus years of work experience in computer‐systems related discipline.
  • Desired certifications :
  • CompTIA Network+

  • CompTIA Server+
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
  • Fortinet NSE 1-6, Cisco CCNA or alike network cert.
  • COMPENSATION :

  • Starting salary $70,000 - $80,000 (Based on education and experience)

  • JOB SUMMARY :

  • Responsible for providing and managing a reliable computing environment for the organization’s workforce; particularly whereby multi-locations have multi‐user computers associated with the LAN network, including remote workers.
  • Responsible for planning, designing, administrating, organizing, modifying, monitoring, optimizing, troubleshooting, and supporting all IT systems including computer and server systems, hardware, approved business software, network appliances, telecommunication systems, and data backup systems; keeps all systems up-to-date with latest firmware, software patches, and configurations that meets regulatory environment.
  • Responsible for administering and maintaining the backup / archiving processing and systems; enforcing the disaster recovery protocols when advised.
  • Maximizes system and network uptime; ensure fast, efficient data access to meet business requirements.
  • Prioritizes work orders effectively and ensures high quality and timely work order resolution.
  • Develops and preserves accurate documentations for continuity of processes / changes including ticket documentation, training manuals, change orders, inventory, security updates, and system architecture diagrams.
  • Review change management activities across the organization and recommends best practices, system and security measures, and corporate data safeguards to meet secure, compliant requirements.
  • Recommends updates to business continuity and disaster recovery protocols; participates in regulatory security audits and makes policy recommendations.
  • Adheres to Valley Hope’s and department specific policies, philosophies, procedures, and standards as well as any other regulating bodies and including all aspects of the development and implementation of software.
  • Actively participates in all assigned staff meetings, staff development, and training as required.
  • SKILLS & ABILITIES :

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical issues to non‐technical management in a way that is understandable, strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work without close supervision; is self‐directed and motivated to accomplish tasks, meet objectives and committed timelines.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and effectively manage multiple tasks and / or projects while being responsive and flexible.
  • Demonstrate basic proficiency in supporting Windows Server environments.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of networking architecture and common networking security protocols.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of penetration, vulnerability tools, firewall protocols, anti‐virus software,patch management systems, encryption, etc.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with others.
  • Stays current with technology, industry trends, and shares knowledge with the team.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • Office setting with traditional hours; must be available after hours for on‐call technical support for the networking and system emergencies.
  • May be eligible to work from home after 90 days based on performance and manager discretion.

  • Able to lift and carry at least 30 pounds
  • Able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head‐neck‐shoulders as needed, grasp other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to travel – estimated at 5-15% of the time.
