This role plays a critical part in ensuring the financial success of capital projects by overseeing budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and reporting. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance professional with strong project accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments. The Capital Finance Manager is responsible for maintaining the project cost accounting system by ensuring all commitments, change orders, progress billings, and forecasts are entered timely and accurately. This position is based in Dallas, TX and is in office Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial aspects of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
• Conduct month-end close processes for project-related accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare variance analysis reports for project budgets, identifying and explaining discrepancies.
• Monitor project billing schedules and revenue recognition, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Oversee detailed balance sheet reconciliations for project accounts and ensure alignment with general ledger entries.
• Collaborate with project managers to review financial performance and provide insights into cost optimization.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for stakeholders, summarizing key project metrics and results.
• Develop and implement process improvements to enhance project accounting accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable accounting regulations.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to project accounts.
• Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc reporting as required by management.
