Receiving Inspector
Our Chandler client is currently seeking an experienced Receiving Inspector
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Inspector to ensure the quality and conformance of all incoming critical parts, assemblies, and raw materials. This role is essential for maintaining our high standards by performing precise dimensional and visual inspections, meticulously documenting findings, and formally accepting or rejecting materials.
Key Responsibilities
Perform Quality Inspections : Conduct detailed dimensional and visual inspections on a variety of incoming products, parts, and materials using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges .
Documentation and Reporting : Accurately document all inspection findings, generating necessary reports to establish the final acceptance or rejection status of materials.
Data Management : Utilize internal and online databases to input and recall data , and reference engineering drawings and specifications .
Certification Verification : Validate that the data on all material or hardware certifications matches the specified requirements outlined in the drawings and purchase orders.
Process Conformance : Physically confirm that incoming hardware and parts, especially those from outside processing, are conforming by measuring and counting when necessary.
Inventory Support : Perform basic inventory control functions, including stocking parts, labeling product , and assisting with cycle counts .
Adherence to Standards : Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Blueprint Reading : Experienced in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings .
Inspection Expertise : Proficient in the use of various inspection equipment and experienced in the review of raw material .
Compliance Knowledge : Ability to understand and verify customer specifications and requirements against received materials and certifications.
Communication : Effective oral and written communication skills .
Organization : Strong organizational skills to manage documentation and inventory.
Computer Proficiency : Comfortable using internal and online databases for data entry and referencing.
Education and Experience
Education : High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience : A minimum of 2 years of experience in receiving inspection or as a quality inspector is preferred. Experience within the Manufacturing, Government Contracting, Aviation, and / or Defense industries is a plus. (Final determination made by Hiring Manager).
Quality Systems : Basic knowledge of the requirements, maintenance, and implementation of ISO 9001 and / or AS9100 guidelines is preferred.
Work Environment and Benefits
Job Type : Full-time
Physical Requirements : Must be able to lift 30 lbs . The role involves stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, and repetitive motion. Requires close visual acuity . May occasionally be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, or dust.
