Software Engineer

In this role, you will be responsible for developing software systems which make other engineers go faster. You will drive your system(s) from concept phase through major integrated tests and Lunar / Martian surface operations.

Responsibilities

  • Take high ownership of various software systems from concept through production
  • Write performant, reliable, and maintainable code
  • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
  • Develop software frameworks which enable mechanical engineers to test their hardware more easily
  • Learn the basics of various hardware engineering disciplines to better understand the challenges faced by users of your code
  • Own Starpath's telemetry and command systems for major integrated tests and Lunar / Martian surface operations
  • Implement test frameworks with a balance of development speed and system reliability in mind

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in Python
  • Evidence of exceptional engineering ability
  • Degree in Computer Science, OR demonstrated excellence at coding via significant professional experience
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Capability to develop software on rapid timelines & demonstrate extreme ownership
  • A desire to make humans a multi-planet species

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Developed and deployed software in production
  • Hands on experience writing code for real-world robots or aerospace vehicles
  • Excellence in academic performance or extracurriculars
  • Leadership experience in extracurricular or professional settings

    • Position Details

  • Location : Los Angeles - Hawthorne
  • Salary base rate is $110k-$140k / yr, plus equity package;
  • PTO & health / dental / vision coverage include

  • Willing to work extended hours as needed
  • EAR REQUIREMENTS :
