SUPERVISORY DUTIES : NONE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Communicates with co-associates, customers and suppliers on project-related matters Establishes schedules and logs lab requests and projects assigned in areas of responsibility Participates in completion of assigned lab requests and projects Coordinates work efforts with other formulators and technicians in setting priorities and accomplishing departmental objects as a team. Assists with developing new colors and products for customers, and performs qualifications testing of developed products Performs all technical service functions for customers Assist production scale-up and problem analysis Assist with writing reports and keeps records for U.S. Paint and customers Maintain good practice of safety and housekeeping procedures Contributes to efforts for continuous improvement and reduction of costs / waste Completes all other tasks, assignments, or functions as assigned and / or required QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS Extremely reliable Strong Interpersonal Skills Ability to handle frequent interruptions Maintain calm demeanor when confronted with conflict Ability to be flexible and innovative Ability to work within a team environment and on an individual basis Ability to work under pressure and multitask with frequent interruptions Good verbal communication skills Qualified candidates should possess an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or Science related field. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION PREFERRED Bilingual in English / Spanish or English / Japanese is strongly preferred. Physical Requirements The ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. . Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Must be able to position self to maintain and operate equipment. Heavy lifting is expected; exertion of up to 80 lbs. of force required. Good manual dexterity for the use of equipment.
