Summary

Public Health Seattle-King County is accepting applications for Registered Nurse (RN) correctional health specialty. Our nurses provide skilled, medically needed health care to adults in custody at the King County Jails. Job Duties

• Provide patient care based upon practice guidelines, community standards of care, and Federal and State laws and regulations.

Provide nursing assessments and interventions including medical, dental and psychiatric screening. Monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.

Evaluate, monitor and treat drug and alcohol withdrawal.

Carry out prescribed treatments, wound care.

Administers medications and vaccinations.

Provide mental health services, as a member of an interdisciplinary team, to patients.

Respond to emergencies throughout the facility; injury and illness; performs CPR when needed.

Health education

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

Work Schedule : These positions are fully benefitted, 0.8 - 1.0 FTE and can cover morning, evening and / or night shifts. May work outside of the typical schedule assigned to meet operational needs. These positions are subject to the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.

Work Location : The primary work locations are at the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle.
