St. Paul, MN (Day1 onsite) || AirWatch Engineer || 1 year Contract

Position : AirWatch MDM Engineer (VMware Workspace ONE / AirWatch administration, Intune, Azure AD)

Duration : 1 years with extension possible

Location : St. Paul, MN (onsite from day 1)

Mode of Interview : Interviews will be conducted in-person at Metropolitan Council Office located at 390 Robert Street North, St. Paul, MN 55101.

The work is expected to be done onsite supporting multiple Met Council locations across the 7-county metro area.

Description of Project

Seeking one full-time AirWatch MDM Engineer resource to manage and support the existing enterprise mobile device management (MDM) environment. The ideal resource with have deep expertise in AirWatch, a strong understanding of mobile security and compliance, and a passion for modernizing endpoint management through cloud-native solutions.

At a high level, the resource will maintain the current VMware Workspace One (AirWatch) infrastructure while working on and helping with the strategic planning and execution of a future migration to Microsoft Intune alongside the Endpoint Engineering Team

Sample Tasks and Key Responsibilities :

• Maintain the existing AirWatch MDM platform, including device enrollment, policy configuration, application deployment, and compliance monitoring for iPhones, iPads and Android devices.
• Provide Tier 2 / 3 support for mobile device issues across iOS, Android, and Windows platforms.
• Maintain Verizon, AT&T and other Vendor Support Portals for cellular devices
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure mobile device policies align with organizational standards.
• Monitor system performance, generate reports, and implement required improvements to enhance user experience and security posture.
• Work on the assessment, planning, and phased migration from AirWatch to Microsoft Intune, including stakeholder engagement, pilot testing, and documentation.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.
• Keep the Met Council leadership updated and current with industry trends and best practices in endpoint management and mobile security.
• Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
