Assistant Supply Chain Manager

Summary

The Assistant Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the daily supervision and operational performance of all supply chain activities within the acute care facility. The Assistant Supply Chain Manager works closely with the Supply Chain Manager and System Director of Supply Chain to develop and implement strategies that improve efficiency reduce costs and ensure a reliable supply of materials without compromising patient safety or quality of care.

Key responsibilities

• Operational leadership : Lead and manage the daily activities of the supply chain team including procurement inventory management warehousing and distribution.
• Performance monitoring : Measure and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and value delivery tracking data related to cost-effectiveness supply availability and operational efficiency.
• Inventory management : Oversee inventory systems conduct cycle counts and perform regular audits to maintain accurate inventory levels. Manage stock replenishment processes to ensure critical items are always available.
• Vendor and price management : Support in managing vendor relationships item price file integrity and monitor supplier performance to ensure quality delivery and cost objectives are met.
• Cost optimization : Actively seek ways to control costs and improve supply utilization by facilitating product standardization and analyzing supply chain data.
• Staff supervision and development : Manage and train supply chain personnel. Create a supportive environment for staff development and ensure compliance with all departmental and hospital policies.
• Department collaboration : Coordinate with other hospital departments especially clinical and procedural areas to understand their supply needs and resolve any issues.
• Regulatory compliance : Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal state and local laws and hospital policies to ensure compliance and safe practices.
• Process improvement : Execute a continuous improvement program for all supply chain functions by identifying and mitigating risks and implementing new processes and technology.
