Job Summary
The Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional, patient-centered care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Essential Functions

- Advocate for patients, ensuring their preferences and needs are respected throughout care planning and delivery.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care to enhance understanding and compliance.
- Implement infection control protocols to safeguard patients from healthcare-associated infections.
- Effectively monitor and operate medical equipment to ensure patient safety and optimal care.
- Promote a safe environment by adhering to National Patient Safety Goals and conducting regular audits of practices.
- Document all patient interactions and care thoroughly and promptly in the medical record system.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain current clinical competencies and knowledge of nursing standards.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at improving performance and enhancing overall patient outcomes.
- Critical Care RN : Administer complex therapies, manage medical equipment, and perform advanced life support procedures.
- Emergency Services RN : Rapidly triage patients, perform emergency interventions, and stabilize critical patients.
- OR Services RN : Provide comprehensive perioperative care and assist surgical teams with procedures.
- Cardiac Surgery RN : Monitor and manage post-operative care in cardiac surgery patients, adjusting treatments as needed.
- Endoscopy RN : Guide patients through endoscopic procedures with careful pre- and post-procedure management.
- Obstetrics / Labor and Delivery RN : Support mothers through labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery by providing education and care.
- Oncology RN : Administer chemotherapy and provide comprehensive care and emotional support to oncology patients.
- Orthopedics RN : Specialize in care for musculoskeletal conditions encompassing pre- and post-operative support.
- PACU RN : Monitor and support patients recovering from anesthesia, providing education on post-operative care.
- NICU RN : Deliver advanced care and monitoring for neonates, ensuring their health and well-being.
- Telemetry RN : Use telemetry to track cardiac health and respond promptly to patient needs.
- Dialysis RN : Administer dialysis treatments and educate patients on managing kidney health.
- Cath Lab RN : Support cardiology procedures through pre, intra, and post-operative care.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications
0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or completion of student rotations in an acute care setting.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong clinical nursing knowledge and effective patient assessment skills.Proficient in medication administration and patient monitoring procedures.Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.Attention to detail in documentation and adherence to safety standards.Familiarity with infection control protocols and quality improvement practices.Licenses and Certifications
