Aquila's Fitness Specialist assists members in safe and effective exercise and performs a wide range of technical exercise and administrative duties in health / fitness center. This is a fully in-person position in Worcester, MA

The pay rate for this position is $23.08 per hour, with a 40 hour work week, 8 hours per weekday. The start date for the position is expeted to be sometime in the fall of 2025.

Candidates must be able to work in person 40 hours a week, 8 hours daily, Monday-Friday. There is no weekend work. Work hours are 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., 8 am to 4 pm; and 10 am to 6 pm on alternating days. Candidates should be able to work all shifts on alternating days. The location is in Worcester, MA.

Responsibilities include :

  • Teach group fitness classes
  • Conduct personal training sessions
  • Supervise exercise areas
  • Educate members concerning safe exercise techniques
  • Perform exercise assessments and prescribe exercise upon American College of Sports Medicine guidelines
  • Conduct safe and effective assessments including cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and body composition analysis; evaluate and interpret data and identify high risk participants and special populations
  • Aid members - spotting and equipment usage
  • Explain all equipment
  • Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all equipment
  • Adhere to departmental and club policies and procedures
  • Adhere to client's policies and procedures
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Assist in wellness and fitness promotions and external events
  • Perform daily administrative duties
  • Qualifications :

  • B.S. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science or in related health / fitness field
  • an active NCCA accredited national fitness certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, ACSM, NCSF, NSCA or other NCCA accredited certification)

  • Active CPR certification
  • 1+ years experience in supervising adults during exercises
  • Skills required :
